The main function of the sheath is to protect the internal insulation layer and conductor from the influence of the external environment, such as mechanical damage, chemical corrosion, etc. After extrusion, the sheath is cooled and solidified, and appearance inspection, thickness measurement and mechanical performance test are carried out.
Finally, there is the inspection process of finished products. Each batch of VV cables needs to undergo strict inspections, including electrical performance testing, mechanical performance testing, appearance quality inspection, etc. Electrical performance testing mainly includes conductivity testing, insulation resistance testing, voltage withstand testing, etc., to ensure that the electrical performance of the cable meets the standards; mechanical performance testing mainly includes tensile strength testing, elongation at break testing, etc., to verify the mechanical strength and flexibility of the cable; appearance quality inspection is to check whether the surface of the cable has scratches, bubbles, cracks and other defects.
